We were thinking of re-naming "TreeHouse Custom Drums" to "TreeHouse Custom Drums and Frames." Our very own Shane is peeking out of the prototype of a customer's special request: 6 black tunable drums on a stick where the drums can nest for transport. After weeks of measuring/trial/error/success (we clocked around 100 hours of R&D on this one -- even checking the prototype in the alley to make sure everything got high enough), the final result of this one-of-a-kind "Drum Flower" checked all the boxes. The sizes worked out that two grouping of drums stack, so the whole thing smooshes down to about the space of an 8x20 bass drum + a stand. Been a minute since we've made a set of Tube Toms, but the perfect opportunity came up to use up some new hardware that isn't made any more AND try out a new color, Coral Reef Blue. Went with 8" diameters this time. So Nice! 10x8, 12x8, 15x8, 18x8; plied maple; satin wax. Can you hear the “Phil” just by looking at this photo? These Academy Concert Toms are a great way to get that iconic sound on your existing drumset. FUN! 5½x8, 6½x10, 8x12, 12x15, 14½x16, 16x18; plied maple; satin wax. The "Middle Set" of concert toms (10"-12"-13"-14") just wasn't quiet enough for this client...so 12"-13"-14"-15" it is! Note the modification of the depth of the 12" to an inch deeper than normal to keep the depths all the same tidy 1" apart -- lovin' the details!! 10x12, 11x13, 12x14, 13x15; plied maple; satin wax. Yet another configuration of Academy Concert Toms, this time 8-10-12-14! 7x8, 8x10, 10x12, 12x14; plied maple; satin wax. If these were any more fun, they'd be lashed together as a slide at a waterpark! Stunning looks and fantastic sounds! 13½x8, 15x8, 16½x8 18x8; plied maple; satin wax. What Fun! Tubes of Yellow Goodness with black bits here-n-there...makes ya wanna smack 'em! 9x6, 11x6, 13½x6, 16½x6; plied maple; satin wax. Look closely and you might see Purdue Pete whacking on some TreeHouse Concert Toms next to their huge bass drum!
