With a respectful nod to bygone days, this fantastic snare features a thin maple shell with re-rings, Beavertail lugs, 3-Point Strainer, clips on Single-Flanged hoops with a fun wrap. 8x14; plied maple; white pearl wrap.
Expanding our metal snare palette, this beaut wears an ensemble of Black and Copper hardware on a beaded Copper shell. Wowza! 8x14; beaded copper.
Mount Snare. That'd be a fun place to visit! Get a view of what that would look like, burned into this natural 8-ply maple snare. 6½x14; plied maple; satin wax.
This new snare was made to match a nice used kit from 2006. A real throwback to classic rock, the drumset features our Vintage Mahogany Shells gloriously wrapped in Silver Glass Glitter whereas this snare is a more modern plied maple shell with double 45s. 7x14; plied maple; silver glass glitter wrap.
This beautiful snare features a Solid Bubinga Stave shell, Bordeaux dye, tube lugs, and a DW strainer. Nice! 5x14; solid stave bubinga; satin wax.
When a great family at a neighboring city retired from 40 years of operating their drumstore, they offered me a couple of new 11x14 raw shells that they'd had for years, shells from DW to show folks how they make their tubes of wood. These demo shells, never to be re-acquired, were in perfect condition and needed to be made into instruments. The timing of their arrival was perfect to help debut our new Symphonic Snare series by showing that you can order these drums with options besides those seen in the Production Symphonic Snare series. This instrument features all the same specs as the Production Symphonic Snare series (this one with twenty Vintage Single Beavertail Lugs) showing off its fantastic 7-ply shell with re-rings. This shell composition features 7 plies of maple veneers with 3-ply maple reinforcing rings (whose final plies are beautifully flamey!). The 11" depth gets you a great Field Snare without chewing up so much space on the storage shelf, or can be tuned higher for a delicate instrument with fantastic body. 11x14; 7+3 DW shell; satin wax.

This instrument features all the same specs as the Production Symphonic Snare series (this one with twenty Vintage Single Beavertail Lugs) showing off its fantastic DW X-shell. This shell composition features 8 plies of veneers of alternating-oriented maple sliced where the grain is at 45° to the length. The 11" depth gets you a great Field Snare without chewing up so much space on the storage shelf, or can be tuned higher for a delicate instrument with fantastic body. 11x14; DW X-shell; satin wax.
Dry. Crispy. Cutting. These are words to describe this example of the new TreeHouse Symphonic Snare series, featuring a fun list of Options and Add-ons: 15-ply maple shell, Long Bridge Lugs, Die Cast Hoops, and of course the new TreeHouse Symphonic Strainer/Butt system with three sets of cable snare wires. 6½x14; plied maple; satin wax.
With the realization that the concept of "Symphonic Piccolo Snares" is wholly under-represented in the storage lockers of symphonic orchestras and concert bands all across the land, I decided to make my first snare featuring our new Symphonic Strainer & Wires this unusual size. Oh, and I had to see if my notion of placing the strainer and butt (designed for a 14") ½" lower on a 15" shell would work or not...It's Nice! "The body of a 15" with the snappiness of a piccolo." -- quote I made up. 3⅞x15; plied maple; satin wax.
