Ocean's 4 Tubes

Been a minute since we've made a set of Tube Toms, but the perfect opportunity came up to use up some new hardware that isn't made any more AND try out a new color, Coral Reef Blue. Went with 8" diameters this time. So Nice! 10x8, 12x8, 15x8, 18x8; plied maple; satin wax.

THICKWoodHoop Kit

Time to use up some new, but no longer made Gibraltar wood hoops (hence the reduced "demo" price)...on PURPLE! The sizes of this kit reflect what of these magnificent thick maple hoops I had left: 10" and 13" mounted toms, 16" floor tom and a couple of swell 8-lug snares. While we're at it, the mounted toms and main snare are thick while the floor and deep snare are thinner. FUN! 8x10, 8x13, 16x16, 18x22, 5x14, 8x14; plied maple; satin wax.

So there was this time we were heading to the Las Vegas Drum Show and I wanted to make up something eye-catching, so I pulled out some no-longer-made new hardware, stirred up a new color recipe -- Coral Reef Blue -- all the time remembering Danny and Rusty's visit to the very same city. Or was it Danny and Jimmy? 10x8, 12x8, 15x8, 18x8, 7x8, 8x10, 8x12, 8x13, 16x16, 15x20, 5½x14; plied maple; satin wax.

I asked a painter friend if he'd wanna cut loose on a shell...and WOW! With a supertough Automotive Acrylic, underlayed with a silver glitter, then candy (translucent) rectangle motifs...just WOW! 7x14; plied maple; custom paint.

We don't only make stuff with wrapped and oil/wax finishes -- here's an example of a swell solid (one-ply) maple snare with Trick strainer and diecast hoops wearing a polyurethane clearcoat finish for maximum shine. 5½x14; solid one-ply maple; clearcoat.
