Can you see how much lighter these are than normal? Your back would notice. Although there's an added cymbal arm, the thinner mounted tom shell and thinner tom hoops make this one even lighter yet! 7x10, 9x13, 15x16, 4½x12; plied maple; satin wax.

What's up with Up-Cycled drums? As TreeHouse Drums' owner owns a drum-n-guitar store, sometimes used pieces come in or he gets partial sets from damaged freight claims. Sometimes new drums' shells are damaged but the hardware is 100%; sometimes clean used hardware just gets lonely sleeping in parts bins. This kind of drumset has the same attention to detail and 100% quality guarantee like normal for typical new TreeHouse Drumsets but with a few parts from random sources. We're not talking about the broken toys crawling out from under Sid's bed, but A-Quality stuff that ought to be out there in the world; pay less for great one-of-a-kind drums!
Oh, and what's going on with "Starter Dough" as a color? The term comes from pulling aside a bit of dough for later or for your neighbor when you're making sourdough bread. This bread uses the goodies building up in the starter lump instead of new yeast to rise the new bread. Over time, the starter might take on a local flavor. Over the years, there would sometimes be a bit of quality expensive aniline dye in the bottom of the jar after coloring a drumset. Kept "just in case, some day," these remnants aren't enough for a full project, but mixed together, they make the same high-quality colorings TreeHouse is known for, but with recipes and proportions that can never be reproduced. Like a starter dough, these remnants get tossed in a jar and can be used for future projects. Instead of wasting this stuff down the drain, how's about a unique one-of-a-kind color for your bargain drumset? 7x10, 13x13, 7⅞x18, 5½x12; plied maple; satin wax. Ready to swing? The guys-n-gals at Hutchinson Community College are! They'll be going there with their new maple 5-pc in Swoosh Blue. Hear the Blue Dragon Roar!! 7x10, 8x12, 14x14, 16x20, 5x14; plied maple; satin wax.
Here’s a beautiful Compact Nesting Kit CS-20 featuring black hardware over an intriguing WINTERGREEN dye. Oh, and did we mention this one lives in Luxembourg? Cool! 7½x12, 10x16, 16x20, 4½x14; plied maple; satin wax.
Compact Nesting Kit with Vintage Mahogany shells? That's what the owner of these beauties wanted, and we were happy to oblige! Check out the fun setup: one up, two down with a separate case for the snare. 8x10, 10x13, 12x16, 14x20; vintage mahogany; satin wax.
Our Skinniest Yet! You could almost fit this drumset in your pocket, but they sound WAY bigger than they look! 6x10, 7x13, 8x16; plied maple; shiny wax. Here's a first for me: a Solid (one-ply) drumset built for sale to the public. All the other ones I've done to date were special orders for customers. Here's your chance to get a solid set with some nice upgraded features, skipping the 2-year wait! In standard Bop sizes with a virgin bass, these drums all feature one-ply maple shells with re-rings, solid raw brass center-node tube lugs, chrome hardware elsewhere including diecast hoops and British Drum Co brackets on the toms. To take it one notch further down the unique path, all 10 heads are new undamped “earthtone” calfskin. Wearing a stunning Bordeaux dye under oil/wax finish, these drums are a showpiece! 7x10, 8x12, 14x14, 14x18, 5½x14; solid one-ply maple; satin wax.
OOH! OOH! These are SUPERCOOL!! Inspired by a customer's desire for the smallest, lightest way to play a great kit at a jazz gig, these sizes showed themselves to check off all the boxes! The mounted nests into the floor, they both nest into the bass. Ever the experimentalist, I decided to make two: one with 8-ply shells & 2.3mm hoops and another with 6-ply shells & 1.6mm hoops (this drumset) just to get an idea of how different/same they sound and to see how far apart they'd be on the scale. This one weighs in at 18 lbs for the three nested drums, versus 21.9 lbs for the 8-ply/2.3mm hooped version! Oh, and I worked up a couple of optional 12" snare drums that match -- a "Real" snare and a new "Unreal" one-headed snare with wires under the head (shown with this drumset). It's SHOCKING how big these drums sound! 6x10, 7x13, 8x16, 3¼x12; plied maple; satin wax.

When a big sound isn't big enough...get a kit w/14 mounted, deep 18 floor, and 26 bass. There. Now it's big enough. 10x14, 18x18, 14x26, 6½x14; plied maple; satin wax.
