Solid Oak. How delicious! Here's a Jazzer's dream: 12/14/18/SD with Solid 1-ply Oak shells (including matching Solid 1-ply BD hoops) with a mix of Beavertail and INDe hardware, destined to swing that audience for years to come! 7½x12, 14x14, 14x18, 6x14; solid one-ply oak; satin wax.
Here are some Academy Toms outfitted with Remo SilentStrokes for that Be-Nice-To-Your-Neighbor goodness! 6x6, 7x8, 8x10, 9x12, 12x14; plied maple; satin wax.
These Academy Concert Toms will fit right in with the fine percussionists of the Boise Serenata Orchestra! 8x10, 9x12, 11x13, 12x14; plied maple; satin wax.
Snares snares snares! Some big, some small… some metal, some wood… some solid, some plied… this one is ALL SNARES!
With a swell mix of new and old (New Diecast Hoops, 3-pt Strainer with 8-Beavertail-Lugs on a nearly 20-yr-old untouched shell with some kind of shiny finish), this one-ply solid shell says everything that needs to be said. This shell is a one-off from a former employee at Vaughncraft and was not labeled. With curly maple re-rings, it is probably Sapele. 6½x14; sapele; clearcoat.
S'pose you like the idea of the sizing of the CS-BOP but are a little concerned about availability of your favorite head -- here's the answer: Go with a 10" mounted tom instead of 11" and all's good! 7x10; 12x14, 14x18; plied maple; satin wax.
When a high, crispy snare is called for that still has body and punch, 4x10 is the magic combination. The only way to get 8 lugs per side is with the more expensive Single-Flanged hoops, but they add dryness similar to die cast. This one's dressed up with black hardware and tube lugs over PURPLE dye. 4x10; plied maple; satin wax.
1-ply solid Zebrawood shell with solid (segmented) Ebony-over-Zebrawood hoops make this stunner of a snare the life of the party in Ashkelon! 6½x14; solid 1-ply Zebrawood; satin wax.
When a high, crispy snare is called for that still has body and punch, 4x10 is the magic combination. The only way to get 8 lugs per side is with the more expensive Single-Flanged hoops, but they add dryness similar to die cast. This one's decked out with standard chrome hardware over "Cauldron Brown" dye. 4x10; plied maple; satin wax.
