Built in 2008 and raised in the church back when Taye tom brackets and spurs were readily available, this drumset has been used in the sanctuary and other stages, but never abused.  That said, some cosmetic scratches have given it a look of great wisdom and experience!  Oh, and that flame-y bass is Beautiful! 8x13, 16x16, 20x20; plied maple; shiny wax.

​"Off we go into the wild blue yonder..." I wonder how many times this'll get played on these great drums, now in the hands of the U.S. Air Force Band of Flight. 7x10, 9x13, 15x16, 4½x12; plied maple; satin wax.

​Rockin' a little thinner snare and a little deeper floor tom, this project shows another variation: DW cymbal arm, X-Hat, and upfiring pedal.  I've always wondered about these, so I grabbed some to see up close -- Wowzers! Besides their TechLock feature on their cymbal stands, there's a boatload of adjustments on their Hi-Hat arm, including their awesome Incremental Clutch where you can tap the arm of the clutch to tighten and loosen on the fly. Also, their upfiring bass drum pedal has SO MANY adjustments! We can finally get the pedal out on our right (or left if you're wired that way) so our bass foot isn't centered under the drum like other pedals. That's way better on your back if you're stand there for the gig for hours on end. Boom! 5x8, 6x10, 24x15, 4½x13; plied maple; satin wax.

Another experiment, this time with a Black (touched with a little Yellow to pop it out)-burst-to-Dark Electric Violet. Wearing tube lugs to let the light shine on the glory, a maple 6½x14 sounds great anywhere! 6½x14; plied maple; satin wax.
