Big ol' concert toms flying over a big bass drum…delicious! 10x12, 11x13, 13x15, 14x16, 18x24; plied maple; satin wax. 6½x14; hammered bronze. This is an amazing snare! Starting with a ¼" stave Birdseye Maple shell then thickened with an 8-ply maple shell, dressed in tube lugs and wearing 2.3mm triple-flanged hoops, this instrument would be fantastic anywhere a snare is needed! 5½x14; solid 1ply 30-stave Head Birdseye Maple w/8-ply maple insert; satin wax. Boom -- Tek! Black on Black with Red Belts for independent tuning + a painted logo makes for a "striking" Tupan at the Albanian Weddings! 16x20; plied maple; satin wax. Sometime, yer jus' sittin' around thinkin', "I should make another Tupan!" -- so this happened! Now then, every hunk of wood has its own character in terms of woodgrain etc. You can never tell until you get there: this one took the dye a little patchy here-n-there, so I'm calling her “Freckled.” 10x22; plied maple; satin wax. |
