6061-alloy aluminum tension rods are strong and use industry standard 12/24 thread pitch. They’re light, weighing in at approx 3-4 grams each.  For example, 12 typical 2" chrome-plated zinc rods weigh about 91 grams whereas 12 2" 6061 Rods tip the scale at just 30 grams and are Made in the USA.
